Why do my fps drop
It's an intermittent issue for me which makes it so hard to recreate. It seems like every time there's a change with my GPU adding cable extensions, changing in game settings etc. I've replaced my psu to an evga because I had a random gskill brand but here's my specs.
I know my system is overkill for a casual gamer but it's all I could get my hands on with stock shortage. I have the same issue. Sometimes it dips so low it becomes unplayable. Other games run terrible as well. I can't figure out why my PC picks and chooses when to work optimally.

As I tried to see how long it would take for the fps to "even out" I figure, "Okay, the level is still loading as I'm standing around. So far I've gotten it to 45fps, untill I restart the game close game and open again and it'll start all over again. So I'm not sure if it's always been this way but I just never noticed it because my previous monitor, a normal TV, was only 60hz, so I wouldn't have been able to notice any issue. I really don't think so, but I could be wrong.
It could have something to do with the monitor itself maybe? Maybe a Gsync issue? I can't seem to forget about that forum post but I can't find it. I have Razer Cortex to turn off anything that isn't essential to gaming including explorer.
Forgot to mention, Windows power setting to Ryzen High Performance, temps all well below reason, nothing except 1 processing core thread being subjected to full load but unchecking every core except 0, and 5 through 16 fixes that. Going to mess with all the sync settings and see if it continues. Also don't know if this happens on other games as this was late night. Will try other games.
